Now after the flight, I was geared up to take the light rail to my destination in Portland. The last time I attempted to use public transportation was at KCI in the summer of 2005. I waited 15 minutes for a bus, caught 3 transfers(40 plus minutes of wait time), for a trip from the airport to the plaza of over an hour. By this time, the story of being the first person I knew to take the bus home had lost its luster. Hec, I was still more than 10 miles from home. So I made some phone calls in the 100 degree heat with my 2 suitcases, no credit card, and 6 dollars. You’ll all be happy to know, I have a credit card, and a debit card even. Wait, there’s more. I even have a checkbook. No more 1850’s cowboy here burying his money in the back yard. Anyhow, everyone was working, I had to keep pushin’ on. I got onto another bus, after waiting and walking more than 20 minutes, only to get within 6 miles of home. Keep in mind, these suitcases aren’t the fancy ones with wheels. Old school baby! Grab it by the handle and carry it. Finally, after walking about 2 miles, a message was relayed to my brother that I was walking home and he picked me up near Mission Road and 75th. Who relayed that message you ask, well, only a few people know, a real great story, but I need to save some A material for later. Oh yeah, that story will be told. Total, the trip that I thought would make me a local legend took 2 and 1/2 hours, and really made my back sore. What does that have to do with Aug 8 2007? Well, nothing really, but the trip in 2007 redeemed for me traveling on bus/lightrail from the airport. I did see a Greg Oden picutre near the Rose Garden, and I got excited. But should they have taken him or Durant? I first thought Oden, but maybe now I’m thinking Durant? Either way, should be a great year. Look out for me on TV. But do the TV cameras flash 4 rows from the top?

Here are some sports questions to ponder:
1. How many games will the KC royals win in 2007?
2. How many times will ESPN make a big deal about Oden grabbing 15 rebounds and scoring 7 points, and Durant scoring 25 with 8 assists?

I think the Royals will go 59-102- I would like Frank White to manage next year, but what happens when they still lose - you can’t fire Frank White there is a statue of him at the stadium!
I don’t follow the basketball-
