It’s great to hear from Panda, who’s now living on the west coast, and is also a Kansas transplant. I look forward to visiting Cali, perhaps before the new year. I don’t think that I will be in Kansas in Nov, but we shall see. It’s good to hear that the Panda is doing well, and I appreciate the humor and good tidings that you have sent my way. For those that don’t know, the Panda and I go way back, to the days in the early 90’s playing nintendo(and the Black Bass). He is pals with my oldest brother, who would usually be in bed by 9pm, so our Super Tecmo sessions would usually begin around that time and continue until 5-6 in the am. Panda was a good sport, and almost pulled out the upset of the decade, until he blew a 28 point lead in the second half, and Warren Moon and the guys fought back for a close victory. I just have to thank those little computer generized players for working so hard. All 8 bits of ‘em. The Jakester learned a lot from those sessions. It’s great to hear that the family is doing so well. It seems that you all are traveling quite a bit. I’ll be in touch.
One more week until the showdown, KU-KSU. Folks need to pick sides, post and let us know who you think is going to win. I can feel the Hawk momentum rolling through the flint hills in Manhattan next Saturday. I think there is a place called Porter’s in Manhattan I sort of liked. The weather here is changing for sure. Less warm, and the next week or so forecasts rain. I’m sure the weather in Kansas is turning as well. My bowling game took a turn for the worse on Tuesday, I couldn’t find the rhythm. First game 104, 2nd game under 115. But then we bowled a practice game, and I picked a different ball, and at least I was closer to 125(my weekly goal now). We’ll see how next week pans out. But the important thing is that the team won, so there is no need for worry because everyone else bowled great. You never knew bowling could be so exciting did you? ADL bowling tourney in December when I come home?
I’ll be near Oklahoma City, or is it Tulsa, for a friend’s wedding(the notorious DC who is hooping it up with Houston’s own Yao Ming as we speak) next Saturday. I wish that I had more time to stop by KC, but in a few months. I hope that it’s sunny and warm in Oklahoma. Should be fun. Hope my brother Anthony reads this, can you remember to bring my golf clubs with you?

Nick,
Thoroughly enjoyed your post recounting the good ol days in KC, when life was simple, the Cheetos were plentiful (not to mention just plain finger lickin’ good), and you and I really had nothing better to do than play that ridiculous football game. Arrrghh, I still can’t believe I blew that 28-point lead!
