Here are a few of my suggestions for entertainment/education:
If you are looking to stay in for the evening, try and watch the new show on fox with the chef from Hell’s Kitchen. He takes over run down restaurants and gets them back on their feet. It’s worth at least a few laughs, and you can learn a bit about human interactions(or how not to act). Or, check out my “TV” post from Sep 23rd for more ideas on what to watch.
For the musically inclined, I have been listening to a cd from a group called the Cold War Kids. They are from California, and I am hoping to see them in Nov(I think) in Portland. You should try to listen to them. For the double dipper, take the cd along for a ride in your car, with no set destination. Try to take a route that is less congested, and through areas that give you those good vibes.
Learn something new about one of the presidential candidates. Find out where he/she is from and what some of their positions on different issues are. It’s closing in on that time where the candidates will be narrowed down. As a former, “this doesn’t effect me” kind of guy, you might be surprised just how many issues are at hand that do concern you, or someone that you know.

I just learned that Bill Richardson, from New Mexico, is in his 2nd term as gov. He also set a world record shaking over 13,000 hands in 8 hour.

On my way back from multnomah falls, I put in the cold war kids. It’s funny, I actually have a cd player in my car. If you didn’t know, the old hyundai had a tape deck.
