If the Phone Doesn’t Ring, It’s Me

2161056569.jpg  Wow, the turkey season is right around the corner. But I’m not sleepin’ on Halloween. I would dress up like chewbacca, but that costume was almost $100, so I went with the generic super-hero costume for $15 from supertarget. The mask is the best part, even though it’s always fun to wear a cape, like George Costanza’s dad’s lawyer. Our bowling team finished the season in 3rd place overall. Not bad. We fell apart in the final four matchup, but it worked out because they ended up getting demolished in the championship game, and we ended with a win on a high note. Two week break, and the winter season starts up.

Too much excitement with KU football. Another win, still undefeated, and looking towards Nebraska at home on Saturday. One game at a time. Should be a packed house. Hope the weather is good for that one. Mizzou keeps winning, could be a nice showdown in KC at the end of the season. I finally put on the license plate for my car. It’s weird, my temporary plate is good until early Dec. I’m feeling a bit more like a west coast guy now with the plates, it seems a bit more permanent. I’ll also be living in a new location within the next month(hopefully), still in the downtown area. In the words of Dupree, I’m starting to feel my “ness”. My “Portlandness” is starting to set in a bit more. Pretty soon, I’ll be throwing 7 different kinds of smoke.

Went to breakfast this morning at the Uptown Silver Dollar(located in the northwest Portland area), great brunch menu. I went with the scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes and toast combo. Meal of the day, maybe even the week. I did have a great friday. I got a free lunch from the kc-oakland football game bet, Bellagio’s pizza. And I put my rickety back to the test and played some basketball. I played 1/2 of the first two games, which was the smart thing to do. Then, I played 3 games in a row. Saturday morning was a bit rough. My upper back is just now starting to calm down on me, and the soreness overall is fading. Next week I’ll sub myself out a bit more. I really shouldn’t be playing, but I need to be more active. The weather has been excellent all week, and this week is supposed to be the same as last. Let’s keep that streak, because the rain is right around the corner. You’ve just got to be active though, and winter is the same anywhere, you can’t let the gloomy sky get the best of you.

  1. Have a great week everyone. Find some time to relax and recharge. Also, find some time for family and friends this week.

  2. Here are potential job opportunities posted on an MSN article(”10 jobs, no experience needed”) that sounded interesting: cruiseline worker, truck driver, whitewater rafting guide, and my favorite: movie extra.
