So getting into the airport was nice, the layover in Cincinatti wore me down a bit. Leaving at 11:30pm Fri, I got home a bit after 10am Sat. I wanted to go the the KU hoops game, but the weather prevented us from doing that. So I won’t be able to make it to a game this year, which I really miss being in Allen Field House. I took a long nap sat., and then my mom made tacos, and we just hung around the house. My niece came over(my brother Christian’s daughter), she is 5, and we had a slumber party, watched some movies, did a puppet show, played catch with a pillow. Stuff I normally do anyway. We watched The Incredibles and The Bratz. Both pretty good flicks. A good start to the trip with a nice meal in my belly.
Sunday was also relaxing, I took some time to unpack and make some phonecalls(and also send some trendy text messages). Later that afternoon, I went to my brother Damon’s house, his wife made dinner, and I was able to hang out with them, as well as my niece, who is 3 years old. We played a bit, and had a nice meal of stuffed peppers. I tried to keep the Portland trend of walking going, only two blocks, but it sure was cold. I’m rather enjoying the snow. Not a big fan of the cold, I could really do without it, but at least it looks great with all of the snow.
Monday and Tuesday were more family days. Of course we spent Xmas eve at my Aunt’s house, and the usual insanity insued. It’s always organized chaos, and we know the routine. Chat for a while, eat and chat some more, get ready for BINGO(I am the BINGO caller, and do a darn good job every year), chat some more-eat some more, and then do the gift exchange, followed by midnight mass for some. Sometimes I grew tired of the routine, but this year I really looked forward to it, and really enjoyed it. Xmas morning we had a family breakfast, which again I haven’t really attended in the past. I kept the Portland trend going, walking roughly 1 1/2 miles(but the weather was so great that morning). It was a great way to start the day going to the breakfast. Xmas day was at my mom’s house, and we made some nice panini sandwiches. I was happy that we had avacado. We did another gift exchange, and hung around before we headed to KCK for the xmas evening gathering. It is a good time, lot’s of family and food. I normally don’t attend, although I did two years ago. As kids, we went EVERY year. I was glad to have gone this year.
Wed. I relaxed in the morning, and then went back to old SJA for a run with some members of the cross country team. My first run since July sometime, and before that it had been May. Less than two miles, but my back and knees felt it later. But while I was running, it was so fun just to chat and enjoy the snow. The best part was that it was snowing while we were running. I ran into a few familiar faces while in the building, and that was great. I stopped into the gym, and checked out the old classroom. I plan on going back Sat. for bball practice, but since I have a flag football game later, I’ll just visit and shoot around. I also went to the plaza to take some pics before helping my brother Christian set up a xmas present for my niece. The plaza was nice, very relaxing and the snow was falling. After that I went back home and relaxed a bit more.
Thur. was a fun day. I took some pics around town, so I can show the folks on the west coast a bit about the area in KC. I traveled to KU and Baker University in Baldwin where I did my undergraduate degree. It was fun to walk around the campus, retrace some steps and take some pictures. I’m really not a picture guy at all. I have taken some in the past, and who knows where they are now. But I realized that I just don’t have many pictures of places I’ve been in KC, or places that I enjoy. I spent almost 2 hours at KU before meeting a friend for lunch at La Parilla in downtown Lawerence. I managed to get into Allen Field House also. I didn’t think that I would, but I took a chance, and I was lucky to get some pics of the inside. It just worked out for me. Memorial Stadium(football) looked great with the snow. I wish that I had brought a sled with me though. After that, my pals Josh and Tim met up at my brother Anthony’s house. We hadn’t been together the three of us in quite a while. It was nice. I was glad that we were able to do that. Over time we have headed in different directions, but to be able to hang out with those guys made the evening really enjoyable. I was glad also that my mom was able to join us, and she got them some nice xmas socks. We nerded it out later, playing the old nintendo 64 track and field game. We used to love that game. We hadn’t played since 2002, so it was nice to dust off the cobwebs.

I believe it is “ensued” not insued.

I just went to You Tube, are you talking about the referee saying the personal foul was 15 yards because “He was giving him the business”? Best call ever.
