This really isn’t a post dedicated to Chuck, but I’ve been reading the daily paper a lot the past few months, and I’ve realized a catchy title can really lure people in. No, I haven’t seen Chuck Norris in Portland, and I don’t think he’s starring in any movies lately, but I did read an article in the Oregonian, and he is now a political pal touring around the country for his candidate of choice. I wonder if that impacts voters from a star-struck point of view, or if they just show up to see Chuck Norris and hear his many great policital points of view(bits of sarcasm from me)? And then I wonder if, for example, Lee Majors(of The Fall Guy) was a political pal, or maybe Jackie Chan, would that influence my vote? I would like to think not, but then again…
I think this weekend I will be going to Mt. Hood. There will be plenty of snow for sure. I won’t be downhill skiing though, although I still intend to do so. I think that we will snowshoe(which I still am hesitant about), or cross country ski(which my body won’t be able to do), so unless I just want to make snow angels or build a snow man, I am going to have to buck up and snow shoe. Why do I hesitate? Well, let’s just say the only memory I have of anyone snowshoeing is from an episode of Yogi Bear, where those other mean characters are trying to get his picnic basket in the mountains while Yogi and Boo-boo just want to have a good time. The bad guys as I recall in that episode had tennis rackets on their feet, which in the 60’s were snow shoes. I have several more reasons, but that is just one of them.
I did finally get to see a movie, The Bucket List. I’m still not sure what I think about it. I like Morgan Freeman as an actor, and I could really just listen to him narrate a movie, no matter how poor it might be. In fact, that movie might have been tons better if it was just him narrating the entire thing, taking out the dialogue. I thought him and Jack together would work nice, and in parts it did, but overall, it didn’t. That’s just me though.
