I like to get outside a lot more than I do enjoy staying indoors. The weather is turning to our advantage (well, those that enjoy warmer, sunnier weather that is). Our Portland Timbers will begin play in early April versus the Puerto Rico Islanders at PGE park. I can remember back in August writing posts about watching the Timbers play, and their run to the semifinals of the USL. They have made several changes this year, one of which was to add Chris Brown to the roster. What’s the connection? He played for the KC Wizards during their run of successful seasons years back. They are looking to add some kiwis to the roster. New Zealanders, not the fruit. Back in the summer/fall, PGE park was hopping with action. The US womens team played there, and two mexican league teams did also. Portland is a soccer town, which is surprising given how much rain there is, but the weather is never opressively warm either, which makes for better running conditions.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day on Monday.
