Here we are in January. A nice past few days, considering the alternative. We surely will be getting rain soon, but for now, just clouds and some near 50 degree days.

My holiday went well. I battled the snow for about 10 days, and headed out towards the Phoenix area to stay with family until Jan 1, when I headed back to Portland. Phoenix was great, although a bit cool (50’s) for the first few days, but then we hit the 70’s the last 3 days.

It was a great trip, mananged to get two hikes in. I ate like it was going out of style. Food was great all break long. I did eat two 4×4’s from In and Out Burger. Some feat, even by my standards. I was nervous about taking one of them down, but once I got the momentum going, the feeling was there. The last two bites of the second burger were a bit of a challenge, but I feel that I earned my t-shirt for sure.

 We went to Tempe to catch the Jayhawks beat Minnesota in the bowl game. We took the light rail, which had just unveiled in the Phoenix area that weekend. What a great game. Two bowl games in a row for me. I hope I can catch them again next year.

I went to the Blazers game last night, my second of the season. Portland took down Golden State pretty easy.

So, I hope that you all are doing well. I feel somewhat refreshed. I can’t beleive the Arizona Cardinals are playing in the championship game. When I was there a few weeks ago, the general consensus was they were lucky to get into the playoffs, and that they would lose their first round game. I just might head back down to watch that game!
